The end of August saw the closing of the Methodist Chapel in Fellside, Kendal. This was a bitter sweet occasion with much of the history of the chapel being told by Fred Pennington and Richard Thompson, whose families have been connected to the chapel since it was built. Revd. At the beginning of September we formally welcomed Revd. Tiras Dainty-Share and his partner Amy to the circuit. Tiras is stationed in the Kent Estuary section and will work alongside the churches in Arnside, Levens and Storth.

Holy Week reflections
These are readings and reflections for Holy Week from Churches Together in Kendal and District.
Monday of Holy Week The reading for today comes from Mark’s Gospel 11:15-19 read at St.Georges Community Church Kendal and the reflection is given by Rev.Tricia Rogers at St. Oswalds
Tuesday of Holy Week: The Plot to Arrest Jesus. Capt.Hillary Borthwick, Salvation Army reads from Mark14:1-2 10-11 and a reflection from Rev.Pam Noonan, Kendal United Reformed Church.
Wednesday in Holy Week: The Anointing of Jesus by Mary Magdalene. Mark 14:3-9 and a reflection from Margaret Woodruff, Holy Trinity and St. George Catholic Church Kendal.
Thursday in Holy Week: Readings and reflections for Mandy Thursday which tell how Jesus washed the disciples feet, prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane and was arrested. Kendal Parish Church, St.Thomas Church in Kendal and the Religious Society of Friends in Kendal all take part.
Good Friday: The readings tell how Jesus was tried by Pilate, scourged by the soldiers and was crucified. The churches in Natland, Old Hutton, Crosscrake, Stricklandgate Methodist Church and Sandylands Methodist Church all take part.
Thanks are due to 14 different churches representing six denominations which have made this project possible.
